This notice is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). It applies to the website benaapps.ch. For the Kreisel-Detektiv (Roundabout Detective) app, the app’s own privacy notice applies.
What this website stores
- No cookies, no third-party tracking, no advertising, no external analytics services.
- The website loads no external fonts, no code libraries and no embedded YouTube. Images and video are hosted on our own web space. The only exception is the anonymous visit count (see below).
- Technical data: when you visit, the server sees your IP address, the time, the page requested and details about your browser and device (log files). This is needed for operation and security. Logs are deleted according to the hosting provider’s retention periods.
- Visit counts: each day we anonymously count how many visitors open the website (each browser only once a day): just the day, the path of the entry page (without query string) and a number. To do this, on the first visit of the day the page sends a small request to our own database (Supabase, Zurich). We store no IP address, no device identifier and no profiles, and we set no cookies. The database server technically sees the IP address when the request is made, but it is not stored. So that counting happens only once a day, your browser (localStorage) remembers only today’s date; there is no identifier. If you want to exclude your device from the count (e.g. the team itself), your browser (localStorage) remembers only the setting “this device counts as internal”; this setting is not sent anywhere except as “internal” in the count.
- Language and time zone: your device’s language and time zone are used only in your browser, to welcome you appropriately (page in your language, roundabouts in your region). They are not sent and not stored; at most your language choice is remembered, and only on your device.
- Email: if you write to info@benaapps.ch, we use your address and your message only to reply to you or, if you wish, to notify you when an app launches. Afterwards we delete the address on request.
- Leaderboard: on the “Leaderboard” page, players appear with their player name, points, number of finds and number of badges only if they choose to (the “Show on benaapps.com in the leaderboard” switch in the app, off by default). Without consent, only “Secret detective” appears in their place, with points and number of finds; the real name does not leave the database for this. Location, email address and picture are never shown. The page is generated when the website is built, from the app’s data; visitors to the website are not recorded in the process. Turn the switch off or delete your account: your name disappears with the next update. More in the app’s privacy notice.
Who processes the data
- Infomaniak (hosting of the website and the email address): Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, servers in Switzerland.
The Kreisel-Detektiv app is a separate service at roundabout.benaapps.ch. If you follow a link to it, you leave this website; there the app’s privacy notice applies.
